All things considered, the Origin hybrid mattress has important features which make it a lot more cooling and better constructed than the Emma Original hybrid.

Read on to find out exactly why the Origin Mattress has an edge over Emma and offers greater bang for your buck – you don’t want to miss this!

1. Origin uses latex, which has been proven to be more cooling than memory foam, and is usually only found in more expensive mattresses¹

Latex is known to be a lot more cooling than foam & memory foam – which is a big plus if you’re looking for a mattress in a warm country like Singapore.

All foams are notorious for trapping bodyheat, due to its material composition and its non-breathable material. The effect can only be mitigated by adding other ingredients into the foam, but can’t be completely nullified.

In contrast, latex is a lot cooler thanks to its heat conductivity & breathability².

Body temperature is one of the key determinants of how much deep sleep you get. For quality sleep, specially in a hot country like Singapore, it’s advisable to avoid all-foam mattresses like Emma.

Aside from its cooling benefits, latex also provides a pleasant “bouncy” feeling and is highly responsive, which adds to the sleep experience.

Latex is a very sought after material when it comes to mattresses, and it’s also costly – which is why latex is more common in premium/luxury mattresses.

At Origin we strive to give the highest quality at the most affordable pricepoint, so we managed to work together with our factory to offer cooling latex at an affordable price.

2. Origin Hybrid has more than 3x the number of pocket springs than the Emma Original – offering more responsive & customised support.

In fact, the Sleep Foundation recommends buyers to avoid mattresses with a spring count of less than 400 for the Queen size⁴ (Emma’s King mattress only has ~250 springs).

Whilst on the other hand, Origin Hybrid offers 870 for its king size mattress. Why is this so important?

A higher number of springs, with all other things being equal, allows a mattress to better respond to the shape of the body, providing better support.

Mattresses with less springs often feel “stiffer” and “less responsive”.

Generally, the more expensive the mattress, the higher the number of springs (up to about 2000 pocket springs per mattress, after which a higher number of springs becomes more of a marketing gimmick).

A high spring count is a good determinant of mattress quality, and not something one should save on when looking for quality sleep.

3. Origin’s 19cm spring promote more cooling airflow relative to Emma’s 12cm springs

Taller pocket springs allow for more cooling airflow to direct heat away from the body and onto the surrounding environment, lowering body temperature and promoting higher quality sleep.

Emma’s mattress has shorter springs, which means it is more stuffed with foam layers which have been shown to trap more heat³.

4. Origin is better value for money

Overall, you’re paying $40 less for a mattress that will give you much better sleep. It is more robust, has a higher number of layers and pocket springs which allows it to respond better to the body. It is also more cooling than the foam-only emma mattress, as only Origin makes use of latex.

Not only is the mattress objectively better-built, but it’s also a lot more popular here in Singapore as an amazing “value for money mattress”.

Emma is currently offering 2 free pillows for their mattress, but there’s a wise saying that goes “anything that’s given away for free isn’t worth much”.

At the end of the day, sleep is an investment and a good mattress is the biggest piece of the puzzle. To guarantee good sleep for years to come, we think it’s better to get the higher value mattress when comparing the mattresses head-to-head themselves.

5. Origin is Singapore’s #1 mattress brand on Google, with a 4.6/5 rating from 970+ Google Reviews vs Emma’s 0 Google Reviews

When you make an investment on something as important as quality sleep, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. It pays off to purchase from a brand with great reputation locally.

6. Origin has a local showroom whilst Emma doesn’t

Origin has their own showroom in Singapore, where you can check out the products yourself, for those that like to touch-and-feel before buying!

1. Origin Hybrid Pro stands out with its exceptional Graphite Crystal cooling system, effectively regulating body temperature and resolving sleep-related overheating, which is lacking in Emma’s Diamond Hybrid mattress

The Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress leverages a hybrid structure combining foam, latex, and pocketed springs, creating an optimal balance of comfort and support. Including the revolutionary graphite crystal latex; the world’s best thermal conductor hat enhances the mattress’s cooling effect and contributes to an even more responsive bounce for improved comfort.

However, the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress does not even include a latex layer. Given Singapore’s warm environment, the absence of this material may result in poor breathability and heat management.

Latex is a very sought after material when it comes to mattresses, and it’s also costly – which is why latex is more common in premium/luxury mattresses.

At Origin we strive to give the highest quality at the most affordable price point, so we managed to work together with our factory to offer our revolutionary graphite cooling latex at an affordable price.

2. Origin Hybrid Pro has 10 times more the number of pocket springs than the Emma Diamond HybridMattress – offering more responsive & customised support

The number of pocketed springs in Origin Hybrid Pro mattresses is far more than Emma’s Diamond Hybrid mattress. A higher spring count is associated with superior body contouring and responsiveness, enhancing the mattress’s adaptability to different sleeping positions.

Do you know? According to USA’s sleep foundation, one should buy a mattress with pocketed springs of more than 400 for comfortable sleep.

3. The Unmatched Reputation of Origin Mattress with over 970+ Google Reviews and a 4.6 Google Rating

Google has been one of the trusted search engines when it comes to finding a good mattress. Many of us tend to make our purchases based on what other buyers have to say. Reviews and ratings are a great way to determine if a mattress is truly what it is marketed or if it is just another bust.

With over 970 users who are extremely happy with the products and a rating of 4.6, it comes as no surprise that Origin is clearly a top favourite amongst the locals. Many agree that Origin’s Hybrid Pro is worth the investment especially after it has been tested by many others and gained multiple awards as well. On the other hand, Emma unfortunately lacks reviews on Google compared to Origin.

To add to the cherry on top of the already luxurious yet cost-effective mattress, the Hybrid Pro comes with a 15-year warranty. Meanwhile, Emma only offers a 10-year warranty.

Conclusion

In summary, Origin’s Hybrid mattress outshines Emma’s Hybrid based on crucial factors such as better material composition, including high-quality pocket springs, cooling gel-infused memory foam, value for money, and overwhelmingly positive reviews and ratings. This further reinforces Origin’s superiority as one of the best affordable yet luxurious mattresses available in the market.

Overall, Origin’s Hybrid Pro mattress proves to be the best choice for those seeking exceptional features, affordability, and customer satisfaction all in one.
