The wrong mattress size can be disastrous for your sleep, especially when you’re going to be sleeping with your partner. We’ve had quite a few customers who have bought the wrong size and regretted it later so here’s a guide for those who are buying a mattress for the first time!

Mattress Sizes in Singapore vs America / Europe

Singapore mattress sizes are different from those in America / Europe. Bed length in Singapore are typically 190cm, and those in the U.S / Europe are usually 200cm. For foreigners who are buying mattresses in Singapore for the first time, don’t be surprised if the mattress isn’t the same length you’re used to.

The Super Single Mattress Size is generally more popular in Singapore as it offers slightly more luxurious spacing as compared to the Single. 

Queen Size Mattress Size

The Queen bed size is originally designed for couples sleeping together. It is however also popular for people who prefer to sleep in a large spacious bed alone.

The King sized bed is usually preferred by couples with children. It’s extremely spacious so it can easily fit 2 parents and 1 kid in between. The extra space also allows for couples to freely change position without affecting the other.

Other Bed Sizes (European, American)

If you’re an European or American who isn’t used to Singapore’s bed sizes, you can refer to the sizes below to see which one best suits your needs. Generally, it’s better to purchase a Singapore-sized bed if you’re living in Singapore. This is because things like beddings, mattress protectors, mattress toppers and bed frames are all produced to fit Singapore’s sizes. You’d have a hard time finding European / American sizes other bedding accessories. Unless you’re simply too tall for the mattress, it’s best to stick to Singapore’s mattress size.

What Size Does the Origin Hybrid Follow?

We’ve been asked this question a few times. Even though our mattress is designed in Germany, it’s made for Singapore, hence our sizing would follow the Singapore size. This means that the length of all our mattresses will be 190cm.
